Hidden defects in private party sales
Although a private seller does not offer a warranty as such, they do have the legal obligation to be liable for six months for hidden defects: those serious defects that already existed before the sale and were not visible.

No one can force you to pay for unauthorized work. You have the right to a prior estimate and for the final invoice to be detailed and adjusted to what was agreed upon. Any extra charges must be approved by you in writing.

The first option is to demand that the responsible party repair the defect free of charge and definitively or, in some cases, replace the vehicle with another one.
Price reduction

If the breach is serious enough (a breakdown that cannot be repaired, significant hidden defects), you can request cancellation of the sale and full refund of the money.
Compensation for damages
